Helpful to include: your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what you were doing when the problem happened. Please don't attach your child's IEP.

Common questions

Where is my child's information stored?

On this iPhone, in the app's own storage. There is no account and no server holding your child's record. If you delete the app, the record goes with it. Export your data first from Settings if you want to keep a copy.

Does my IEP get uploaded anywhere?

The document is read on your device. Depending on the choice you made under Settings → Processing, longer documents may be analyzed using Apple's Private Cloud Compute, which processes the text without storing it or making it readable to Apple or to us. You can set it to on-device only at any time. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

Why isn't Private Cloud Compute available on my iPhone?

It needs iOS 27 on an iPhone with Apple Intelligence turned on. Until then, long documents are read on your iPhone, section by section. The option stays visible in Settings so you can see the trade-off, but it is disabled when your phone can't offer it.

The app got a detail wrong. What now?

The app reads what the document says, and IEPs vary enormously in how they are written, so some fields come out blank or imprecise. Nothing it extracted overrides your own knowledge. The record is a starting point for the meeting, not a legal reading of the plan. Every section in the IEP tab sits next to the original text so you can check it yourself.

Why was one of my child's goals flagged?

A goal is flagged when it does not state something progress could be measured against: no number, percentage, or frequency. That is not a judgment about your child or the school. It means that at the next meeting, it will be hard for anyone to say whether the goal was met, which is worth raising.

Is this legal advice?

No. Klere explains common terms and rights in plain language and helps you organize what you have observed. It is not a lawyer or an advocate, and it cannot tell you what to do in your specific situation. For a dispute, contact your state's Parent Training and Information Center or an education attorney. Every US state has a federally funded center that helps families for free; the Center for Parent Information and Resources lists them.

How do I delete everything?

Settings → Delete all data. It removes every child, goal, observation, and meeting from this device immediately, and it cannot be undone. Export your data first if you want a copy.

How do I log a moment with Siri?

Say "Log a moment in Klere" or "Add a note to Klere," then speak the observation. Siri replies with which goal the note was filed under, or tells you plainly that it was filed under none, so a note never disappears without you knowing.

Requirements

Something else?

If it isn't covered here, email us. Bug reports, confusing screens, and IEP formats Klere reads badly are all welcome. A photo of the app screen helps. A photo of the IEP itself is not needed and is better kept to yourself.
