Your child's record is yours. Here is exactly what Klere does with it.

- Everything Klere stores lives on your iPhone. There is no account and no server holding your child's record.
- Klere has no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no third-party software inside it. It does not track you.
- AI analysis runs on your iPhone by default. For long documents you can opt in to Apple's Private Cloud Compute, which processes the text without storing it and without anyone, at Apple or at Klere, being able to read it.
- The only other times anything leaves your phone are when you choose to email, share, or export it yourself.
What Klere stores on your iPhone
Klere keeps its data in the app's own storage on your device. That includes:
- the pages you scan or the PDF you import, and the text read from them;
- the plain-language summaries, goals, services, dates, and notices Klere finds in the document;
- the observations you log, including ones you dictate to Siri;
- your child's name and grade as you entered them, your vision statement, meeting dates, prep questions, and any concerns-letter draft;
- rights articles you save, and your language and processing preferences.
If you back up your iPhone, the app's data is included in that backup like any other app's, under your Apple account and Apple's backup protections. Klere itself never sends this data anywhere.
How the AI analysis works
On your iPhone
By default, Klere reads your document using Apple Intelligence models that run entirely on your iPhone. Nothing leaves the device. Long documents are read section by section, which is why Klere offers a second option.
Private Cloud Compute, only if you choose it
Some IEPs are longer than an iPhone can hold in mind at once. If your iPhone supports it, you can allow Klere to use Apple's Private Cloud Compute for those documents. It is off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it back off at any time under Settings → Processing.
When it runs, the text read from your document is sent to Apple's Private Cloud Compute servers, analyzed, and returned. Apple designed this system so that:
- your document is never stored. It is erased when the analysis finishes;
- no one at Apple, and no one at Klere, can access it;
- it is never used to train any model;
- the server software is published so independent security researchers can verify these claims.
The scanned page images stay on your iPhone in every case. Only extracted text is sent. And every finished summary in the app tells you where that analysis ran, so you are never guessing.
Private Cloud Compute requires iOS 27 on an iPhone with Apple Intelligence turned on. Apple's own description of the system is at security.apple.com.
Siri and the camera
If you say "Log a moment in Klere," Siri handles your speech under Apple's Siri privacy terms, then hands the resulting note to Klere, which stores it on your iPhone. Klere uses the camera only to scan IEP pages, and the pages it captures are kept on the device.
What leaves your iPhone only when you decide
- Emailing a concerns letter. Klere drafts the letter on your iPhone. "Send email" opens your mail app with the text filled in. Nothing is sent until you send it, from your own account.
- Exporting your data. Settings → Export my data creates a plain-text file and opens the share sheet. Where it goes is up to you.
- Copying text. Anything you copy goes to your clipboard, like in any app.
- Emailing support. Your message contains only what you type. Klere never attaches anything from your child's record.
What Klere does not do
- No account, sign-up, or login.
- No analytics, usage tracking, crash reporting, or advertising identifiers.
- No third-party SDKs or trackers of any kind.
- No selling, sharing, or renting of data. We, the people who make Klere, never receive your child's record in the first place.
Children
Klere is made for parents and guardians, not for children, and is not directed at anyone under 13. It holds information about a child only because a parent entered or scanned it, and only on that parent's iPhone.
Your control
- See it. The IEP tab shows everything Klere read, next to the original text.
- Take it with you. Settings → Export my data.
- Delete it. Settings → Delete all data removes every child, goal, observation, and meeting from your iPhone immediately. Deleting the app does the same. There is nothing to delete from a server, because nothing was ever uploaded.
Security
Because your child's record is stored only on your iPhone, it is protected by the same device encryption, passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID that protects the rest of your phone. There is no Klere server that could be breached, because there is no Klere server.
Not legal or professional advice
Klere's summaries, flags, and drafts are informational. They help you read and organize, and they do not replace an attorney, an advocate, or the judgment of your child's IEP team.
Changes to this policy
If how Klere handles data ever changes, this page will change with it, and the date at the top will be updated. Because the app's privacy promise is written into the app itself, a change in the app would also be visible on its screens.
